Kirkistown National Rounds 10, 11 & 12
8th July 2018
Fantastic week across in N Ireland for Rounds 10, 11 & 12 of the British Nationals. Three out of three Podiums! 😁
The results move us up to 2nd in the Championship!
Qualifying was tough, we failed to get a tow, and with it being worth so much, we only managed 7th place. It was still a pretty respectable time though, given I had driven round without the benefit.
Race 1, drove a really strong race to go from 7th to 3rd, very eventful but drove through for a great finish.
Race 2, once again a very eventful race, fell down the order initially but drove back to where I started. The two lead cars had already checked out by the time I reached the front. I came under pressure from behind in the closing laps, but managed to hold 3rd by 0.04 of a second across the line.
Race 3, as always the grid was reversed for the final race of the weekend. This meant we started 6th. A hectic opening few laps once again, lots going on, but we slowly climbed up to 2nd place, where the race would unfortunately finish behind the safety car. Definitely had the pace for the win, but was super happy to come away with another three podium finishes.
A huge thank you as always go out to the Kevin Mills Racing Team! 🙏🏻 To BOLD race engines for a great motor! To Rachel Bourne for some great pics! As always a massive thank you everyone for all the support! 😁
All in all, a really enjoyable weekend across in N.Ireland. Looking forward to the next National Rounds at Castle Combe this coming weekend!! 😁😁
