Oulton Park National Rounds 16 & 17

12th August 2018

Another really solid weekend in the Nationals, coming away with a 2nd and 3rd.

Qualifying - We ended up P3 by the end of the session, I did post a time that would have put us P2, we unfortunately lost it though as it had been deemed that I had gone over track limits. It was pretty marginal, but as it was a ‘judge of fact’ we couldn’t dispute it. Still a decent result though.

Race 1 - A reasonable start, I managed to move up one spot to second a couple of laps into the race, but this is as high as we could go. The leader had already checked out, so I set my sights on being consistent and holding position, which we managed to do relatively comfortably in the final few laps.

Race 2 - I had an amazing start this race and got well out in front with the lead. Unfortunately the car didn’t reach its optimal running for a few laps, therefore I was unable to fully capitalise on our great start. We slipped back a couple of positions through the race, to fourth at one point, but with so much action going on it was really anyone’s race to win. We would eventually finish third which was another really good result for our championship campaign.

Big thank you as always to the Kevin Mills Racing Team and BOLD racing engines.

Thank you also to Bourne Photo for all the great pics!

Next National Round is at Croft, a new track for me and a lot of others. Really looking forward to the challenge, it looks like a track that I’m really going to enjoy.
