BRSCC National Rounds 9, 10 & 11 Kirkistown
29th June 2017
Absolutely fantastic race weekend at Kirkistown, Northern Ireland for Rounds 9, 10 and 11 of the National FF1600 series.
Qualifying: Didn't go as planned, spent most of the session passing traffic, failing to get a clear lap in we Qualified 10th.
Race 1: A good race making my way up to 7th, I eventually caught the train of cars in front but ran out of time to make any more progress.
Race 2: Really great race, fought my way up to 4th only to be driven into the back of and spun off the track, rejoining in 12th with only a couple of laps to go I managed to finish the race 10th.
Race 3: Started 10th, had a great race to finish 5th, 1.8 seconds off the winner.
I feel we made a big step this last week, I continue to feel more at one with the car, Kevin gave me a great setup, we nearly made it on the podium twice, I'm hoping the three steps are not far away. In all, really pleased with the progress after just two and a half months of racing cars.
A huge thanks to the whole Kevin Mills Racing team, a really really enjoyable weekend, looking forward to the next one at Donington Park in just under two weeks.
Met a load of great people over in Ireland, a big thank you to all who made our journey across such an enjoyable one, look forward to going back!
Thank you everyone in general for the continued support, it means a lot!
Just a reminder that I'm still fundraising in aid of Cancer Research UK, I will be announcing my next challenge sometime soon, along with the unveiling of a new race car livery coming in the next couple of weeks thanks to Signs Express Southampton.
