BRSCC National Rounds 17,18 & 19
23rd August 2017
Wow.... what an emotional weekend at Silverstone.
Finished the final race in 2nd to take my first podium in cars, and in what better style than in the FF1600 British National Championship.
I fought hard to get there. Qualifying saw me place 5th, however I had to serve a 5 place penalty from the previous round in July, this meant I would actually start race 1 in 10th. I made my way up to 4th, but in a move for 3rd position got tangled with the other car. As a result we would have to go into Sunday starting 32nd.
We drove from 32nd in race 2 to finish 10th and then starting 10th in race 3 I finished 2nd. Meaning we averaged an overtake per lap in Sunday's races. Also very nearly had fastest lap of the race but got pipped by 0.02 of a second. ⏱
Just an awesome day, as much as I was determined to turn the weekend around, I'm not sure I actually believed we could do it so effectively. But here we are 😅
Can't thank Kevin, my mechanic Alex, Ali, Shane, Ben, Shirley enough for all the hard work, support and making this all possible, the car felt great and I had an awesome weekend. It's felt like we've been on the edge of a result like this for a while, so happy that all the pieces finally came together.
A massive thanks to Neil Bold racing engines for a great motor.
To Signs Express (Southampton), the car decals are all fitted and I think it looks great! All themed in aid of Cancer Research UK. Thank you so much for making the design come together!
Thank you to Walero Motorsports for support this season, the gear is extremely comfortable, and great to wear.
To my Mum and Dad for always being there, the support has been huge and I'm so glad that we could all share this together!
Jim Robertson for your continued support, so sorry you couldn't be there to witness my first podium in cars, but I'm planning on standing on many more 😁 So I'm sure you'll see me on one soon!
Great that you could make it Jackie and Chris, really glad you enjoyed it, thank you for coming!
Next race is Combe this Bank Holiday Monday, really looking forward to it!
Finally I have an announcement which I look forward to making in the next couple of days, so please keep an eye out for that too.
